Unhurried creative soul work for whomever is stuck inside an old story and ready to imagine a larger one. Not therapy, not medical care.
a transformative change of heart and mind; a turning — the beginning of healing.
The offering is simple: a session, by video, long enough to actually listen. For those who want to go deeper, our creative programs are there when you're ready. The point is not to tell you what's wrong with you. It isn't even to tell you what's right with you. The point is for you to notice that you never needed anyone to do either.
Out beyond right and wrong, there is a field.
I'll meet you there.
Live the questions now.
The world is changing rapidly, and you are living in it. Much of what gets called pathology is a sane response to these times — grief, unease, exhaustion in the midst of a liminal, transformative time.
The aim is to understand the whole person — not a diagnosis, but a life — within the context of the world they actually live in.
What is the opposite of feeling nothing, of merely getting through your days? Falling in love with your life. That is what we aim for.
Astronauts describe something called the Overview Effect: seeing Earth whole from orbit — one small, luminous thing, with no borders visible — they come home changed, with a new sense of what matters and how it all belongs together. We aim for the overview effect of your life. Not a closer inspection of what's wrong, but enough distance to see the whole of it — the arc, the connections, the beauty you've been standing too close to notice — and to fall in love with it again.
Psyche is simply the Greek word for soul. Somewhere in the obsession with optimization, that meaning was lost, and the soul became a list of symptoms to manage. Poetry & Paradox keeps what was always true — that healing asks us to hold more than one truth at a time.
Toward the whole person, and the whole of a life.
A life is not a case to be managed. It is a poem, still being written.
Someone who decided that working within the usual frameworks felt like a tight shoe
Here, no one will prescribe you anything — except, perhaps, a poem.
I founded Poetry & Paradox after years of meeting the same person in different chairs: someone stuck inside a story about themselves, on a medication that wasn't working nearly as well as it was supposed to. Too often I heard a version of the same report — the depression was "resolved," but they felt nothing. Flat. Muted. Many told me it was worse than what had brought them in.
I came to believe that a psychiatry that trades suffering for numbness has misunderstood the assignment. The soul doesn't want to be quieted; it wants to be met. That conviction became this practice. Working within those frameworks had come to feel like a tight shoe — so I took it off, and kept the part that was always the point: the conversation.
a transformative change of heart and mind; the beginning of healing.
when the old story gives way, and something new becomes possible.
Metanoia — the turning — is what we work toward here. Poetry & Paradox is the more serious doorway. Its sister, the Dearly Beloved Project, is the more playful one. Both lead to The Kairoscene, for anyone who wants to do more.
Explore The KairosceneThe questions people actually ask — answered the way we practice: plainly, and without hurry.
No, and it matters that we're clear about it. I don't diagnose, treat, or prescribe here, and our work together is not psychotherapy or medical treatment. Coaching is reflective, forward-looking work between two adults — conversation, reading, and honest thinking about the story you're living. If at any point I believe you need therapy or psychiatric care, I'll say so plainly and help you find it.
People able to engage in ongoing, reflective work, and who sense that what they're carrying is more a story than a disorder. I offer radical compassion, which is not the same as "there, there." If you want to be soothed, I'm probably not your person — and there are good people who are. If you want to wake up to your life, I might be. It is not a crisis service. If you are in acute distress, having thoughts of harming yourself, or need a higher level of care right now, please call or text 988 or go to your nearest emergency room. Work like this may be right for you in a later chapter — and you would be welcome then.
No. I don't manage medications here, and I won't tell you what to take or stop — those decisions belong between you and your prescriber. Our work is about the story you're living, not your chart. If a medication question comes up, I'll point you back to the person responsible for your care.
Answer a few short questions on this page and tell me what you'd like: just information, a 10-minute fit call ($25, credited toward your first session), or a first session directly. I reply personally with a private link to book. If we both feel it's a fit, we keep going. This is a small, niche practice, and the call is how we make sure it's the right one for you — before you invest in a full session.
This work is private pay and is not covered by insurance — there are no diagnoses to bill and no superbills, which is part of what keeps it free of the system's gravity. Current session fees are shared on the fit call, before you commit to anything.
We ask for 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule.
Yes. Some people arrive carrying an experience that reordered things — a loss, a revelation, a non-ordinary state of consciousness, including through psychedelics in a legal setting — and want help weaving it into the rest of their life. Integration of that kind is soul work, and it's welcome here. It happens through conversation, reading, and reflection only: I don't provide, recommend, or supervise any substance.
Long enough to think together. Real conversation, and no checklist in sight. You'll leave with something to carry — a question, a reframe, a new way of seeing — rather than a prescription.
By video, from anywhere — only time zones to coordinate.

Most people start with a 10-minute fit call — a small $25 fee, credited in full toward your first session — to ask questions and sense whether this is the right fit. It's a conversation about fit and logistics, not therapy, and not clinical advice. If you already know, you can request a first session directly. Either way, I reply personally with a private link to book.
